LosAlamos Middle School Student Council raised a total of $1,341.45 to benefit Pennies For Patients sponsored by the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society!
$95.66 was raised from the raffle alone. Because of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society videos Student Council watched before the beginning of the campaign, students understood the importance of their fundraising efforts. They got the entire campus involved with Pennies For Patients by promoting a pizza party contest between the eighth period classes and raffling off theme baskets to raise even more money. The Student Council Members were so excited to pick up the money and count it every day. They announced the top five 8th period fundraising classes daily. Cheryl Smith-Ecke’s 8th period class finally emerged victorious in the contest for the pizza party with their whopping $300.91 donation. Mrs. Smith-Ecke’s class donated over$100 on the last day to move up from second place to first. Nine happy students were the proud winners of baskets ranging in theme from Gum to Movie Night.
